Pesto, Fresh Basil

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups fresh unbruised basil leaves, packed
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts or walnuts
  • 3 clove garlic, peeled and smashed with a knife

Preparation

Step 1

Combine the basil with the garlic and pulse in a food processor or blender. Slowly add the olive oil in a stream while the food processor or blender is on. Stop to scrape down the sides of the container with a spatula as necessary. Add the nuts and pulse or blend again until smooth.
