Apricot Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 jar (18 oz) apricot preserves

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

In a large bowl cream together butter & sugar. Add flour, then nuts and coconut.

Press 3/4 of the mixture into an ungreased 10 x 15" jelly roll pan.
Bake 15-20 minutes.

Remove from oven & spread the apricot preserves over top and crumble remaining nut mixture on top of preserves. Bake 20-25 min more. Cut while warm. Makes four dozen bars.

Cut off dark ends if you like.
