Strawberry Spinach Romaine Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 bag spinach
  • 1 bag romaine lettuce
  • 1 pound of fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 4 oz shredded swiss cheese
  • 2 small pkg slivered almonds – caramelized
  • (cook in a small skillet w/ 1/4 cup brown sugar and approx. 3 drops of water)

Preparation

Step 1

Dressing
1 cup vegetable oil
¾ cup sugar
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
½ tsp salt
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp minced onion
2 tsp poppy seed
Mix well – dressing will be thick. Add to salad right before serving.
