Apple Dumplings

Ingredients

  • Dumplings:
  • 1 pie dough for 10-inch crust
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Flour
  • Butter
  • Apple slices
  • Sauce:
  • 3 C. water
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 6 T. cornstarch
  • 1 T. butter

Preparation

Step 1

1. Roll out dough to form 6” rounds. Place a few apple slices in each round.
2. Add 1 T. sugar, dash of cinnamon, 1 T. flour, ½ tsp. butter on each round.
3. Fold and pinch closed. Bake 350 degrees until brown.
4. Meanwhile, mix water and cornstarch until smooth. Add cinnamon and sugar. Heat until thick. Just before taking off heat, add butter. Serve over dumplings.
