Lemon Meringue Pie

Ingredients

  • 9 inch pie crust
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 8 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter

Preparation

Step 1

Bake pie shell per package instructions. Mix all ingredients and bring to a slow boil. Cook until thickned. Pour into pie shell.
Meringue:
Beat egg whites on high until fluffy. Add cream of tartar and sugar gradually while continuing to beat. Spread over pie. Bake in 4oo degree oven until meringue is slightly browned
