Red Cabbabe (German Style)

Ingredients

  • 4 strips bacon, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 32 oz jar red cabbage (sliced red cabbage if you prefer)
  • 2 medium apples, grated coarsely
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt & pepper, sugar to taste
  • Red wine to taste

Preparation

Step 1

1. Fry bacon in pan until browned.
2. Add onion & continue frying until onion is golden brown.
3. Add red cabbage & grated apples.
4. Add bay leaf. Season w/salt, pepper, sugar & red wine.
5. Bring to boil & let simmer for about 20 minutes.
