Orange Port Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 orange
  • Port
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 (12oz) bag fresh cranberries

Preparation

Step 1

Finely grate zest from orange and set aside.
Juice orange into liquid measuring cup. Add port to make 1 cup total.
Pour into saucepan and add sugar; bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Add cranberries and cook,stirring until cranberries begin to burst, 5 minutes. Simmer, stirring, until liquid is reduced, about 8 minutes. Turn off heat, stir in zest and let cool until serving - or before covering and refrigerating. Can be frozen, thaw overnight in the fridge.
