Tomato Sauce, Puttanesca style

Ingredients

  • 3 TB olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 TB anchovy paste
  • 1 large can diced or crushed tomatoes
  • 1 TB tomato puree
  • 2 handfuls olives, finely chopped
  • 2 TB capers
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and saute. Add rest of ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
