Ingredients
- 1 1/4 lbs lean ground beef
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/3 cup chopped celery
- 1/3 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1-2 tsp hot pepper sauce
- 2 tsp Worcestershire
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp cayenne
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup nonfat dry milk
- Sour cream
- Sliced tomatoes
Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl combine beef, eggs and bread crumbs.
In a large skillet melt butter. Add onions, celery, green pepper, and garlic. Saute 5 min.
Add hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, cumin, nutmeg, cayenne, and ketchup.
Mix water and dry milk. Blend into the sauce. Cook stirring 1 min until blended.
Combine Sauce with beef mix.
Shape beef into 4 large patties. Place on foil covered shallow baking dish.
Bake at 400 for 15 to 20 min or until done.
Top with sour cream and tomato.
