Caramels

This recipe was given to me by a friend, Juanita Walters. I've always had good luck with it. : )

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs. light brown sugar
  • 2 sticks real butter
  • 1 C light corn syrup
  • 1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk

Preparation

Step 1

1. Cook in heave pan, stirring constantly to 245-250.
2. Add 1 tsp. vanilla after removing from heat.
3. Pour into a buttered 7"x10"x1" . Cool completely. When cold, turn onto a buttered cutting board and cut, making into strips and then cut size caramel you want.
4. Wrap each in wax paper.
