The River Cafe Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cups onions
  • 2 garlic cloves chopped
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • Dried oregano
  • Italian seasoning
  • Sea salt and black pepper
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 8 oz. tomato paste
  • 2 28 oz. cans whole peeled tomatoes, broken up
  • 2 lg. jars sliced mushrooms

Preparation

Step 1

Saute onions until soft, add garlic and saute about 1 more minute. Add ground beef, italian seasoning, oregano and salt and pepper and cook until browned. Add tomato paste and combine completely. Add tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Cover pot and cook for a couple hours or until tomatoes have cooked down. Add wine and cook for about 5 minutes. Turn off heat, add mushrooms and let set til ready to serve. Reheat while pasta is cooking . Serve with parmesan sprinkled on top
