Salsa di Pomodoro Italiano

Ingredients

  • 1/4 C olive oil
  • 1 small onion
  • 3 T tomato paste
  • 3 C hot water
  • 2 large cans plum tomatoes, mashed
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 t dry basil
  • pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Heat olive oil in medium size pan. Add onion and cook over low flame until transparent. Add tomato paste and water. Stir. Then add tomatoes, garlic, basil, pepper. Bring to a boil, lower flame and simmer for 1 hour. Serve over angel hair pasta
