Ingredients
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 c. 1/2 & 1/2
- 1 lb shrimp cooked and peeled
- 6 T flour
- 2 c. whole milk
- 2 c. chicken broth
- 2 T brandy
- 3 T ketchup
- Salt and white pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Saute celery and onion in butter over medium heat till opaque. Remove vegtables and reserve butter in the pan. In a food processor blend vegtables with 1 c. 1/2 & 1/2. Add shrimp and process a few more seconds. Reheat butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth. Stir in remaining 1/2 & 1/2 milk and chicken broth to make a light white sauce. When sauce thickens add pureed shrimp and vegtable mixture. Add brandy, ketchup salt and pepper.
