Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Brown Sugar, packed
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/8 tsp. Salt
  • 4 (4") Cinnamon Sticks
  • 5 Whole Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 2 Quarts Hot Water
  • 2 Cups Rum
  • Garnish: Whipped Cream and Nutmeg

Preparation

Step 1

Add brown sugar, butter, salt and spices to a slow cooker. Add hot water; stir well. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours. Add rum; stir. Serve in warm mugs garnished with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
