Rye Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs yeast
  • 1/2 c warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 c rye
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 3 c hot water
  • 1/2 vegetable shortening, melted
  • 1/2 c molasses
  • 9 c white flour

Preparation

Step 1

Add yeast to paste and stir in white flour.

Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes. Yields three big loaves.
