Apple Bars

Ingredients

  • Dough:
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Cup Margarine
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • Filling:
  • 6 Cups Sliced Apples
  • 1 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Melted Margarine
  • 2 Tbs. Flour
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • Glaze:
  • 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 4-5 tsp. Water

Preparation

Step 1

Divide dough in half. Roll out 1/2 of it to put in a 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Also make sure the dough is up the sides of the pan, then put filling in. Roll out rest of dough and put on top of filling, sealing edges. Brush with slightly beaten egg whites; slash top. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Drizzle with glaze while still warm.
