Warm Lemon Pudding Cake

If you want a stronger lemon flavor add the zest and juice of one lemon to the pudding mixture before pouring over batter in baking pan.

If you don't fancy lemon, you may substitute vanilla flavored instant pudding.

If you like chocolate, substitute chocolate devil's food cake mix and dark chocolate instant pudding mix.

Ingredients

  • 1 Pkg. Yellow Cake Mix
  • Cake mix ingredients per the box
  • 2 Pkg. Instant Lemon Pudding - 3.4 oz. size
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Cups Cold Milk
  • 1 1/4 Cups Water
  • 2 Tbsp. Powdered Sugar (for dusting)

Preparation

Step 1

350 degree oven
9 x 13 prepared baking pan - I use a glass pan

Prepare cake mix as directed on the box and pour into the prepared baking pan.

In a bowl with a whisk, beat pudding mixes, granulated sugar, milk and water for 2 minutes and pour over cake batter in baking dish. Don't spread it! If you do, you will fail!

Place baking dish on baking sheet. The baking sheet will catch any sauce that might overflow during baking. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until toothpick in the center comes out clean. Cool 20 minutes. The sauce will thicken up slightly as it cools.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm. Refrigerate leftovers.
