Fresh tomato soup

Ingredients

  • 4 c chopped tomatoes
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 c chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar

Preparation

Step 1

In stockpot combine tomatoes, onion, cloves and broth; bring to boil and gently boil x 20 min. Run through food mill. In stockpot melt butter, add flour and cook until roux is brown. Slowly whisk in tomato mix. Can be served hot or cool, refrigerate and serve cold.
