Applesauce from the Food Network

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lbs. Mcintosh apples
  • 3 Tbs. sugar or sweetener
  • 1 Tbs. fresh lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1

Coarsely chop the apples. Combine the apples,sugar,lemon juice and 3 Tbs. water in a large pot. Bring to a boil over high heat. Cover and lower the heat to maintain a gentle simmer. Cook until the apples are completely soft about 20 min. Uncover and continue to cook, stirring frequently to prevent scorching,until most of the liquid has evaporated about 30 min. Remove from heat. Refrigerate if not using immediately.
