slow cooker clam chowder

Ingredients

  • 26 oz canned clams drained
  • 1/2 lb of bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 6 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 3 cups of water
  • 3 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 cups of 1/2 and 1/2
  • 3 tbsp. corn starch

Preparation

Step 1

combine the clams, cooked bacon, onion, cubed potatoes, water, salt, and pepper in the crock pot
cover the crock pot and cook on high for 3 - 4 hours

combine the 1/2 and 1/2 with the cornstarch until the corn starch is dissolved. Stir the mixtureinto the soup. Cook on high for one more hour or until the soup has thickened some.
