Crab Dip, Hot

Ingredients

  • 8 T butter
  • 8 T flour
  • 3 c milk
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1 small chopped onion
  • 1/2 chopped bell pepper
  • 2-3 ribs celery, chopped
  • 1 lg can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 lb. crab meat
  • Tabasco, to taste
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in saucepan; blend in flour Add milk slowly, stirring until the sauce is smooth and thick. Add more milk if necessary. In 1/4 c butter, saute onion bell pepper & celery until soft. Add to the cream sauce. When ready to serve, add the mushrooms and crab meat. Season to taste. Can be served in hollowed out bread.
