Hot Water Pie Crust

This was my Grandmother's pie crust recipe and it's the one that I've always used. It's easy to work with.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 T vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Pour the hot water over the Crisco and stir until mostly melted. Add vinegar, flour, and salt. Let sit until cool before using. I put it in the refrigerator for a bit before rolling it out.
