Ingredients
- 3 pds cubed stew beef or chuck
- 1/4 c flour
- salt and pepper
- 3 T evoo
- 1 c baby carrots
- 4 lg potatoes cubed
- 1 T parsley
- 2 c boiling water
- 1 pkg dry onion soup mix
- 3 T butter
- 3 onions sliced
- 1/4 c red wine
- 1/4 c beef broth
- 2 T flour
- bay leaf
- frozen peas
Preparation
Step 1
place meat in lg siplock bag
combine 1/4 c flour with 1/2 t salt-our into bag w meat and coat
heat evoo in lg skillet over med heat..add stew meat and cook till browned on all sides-transfer to slow cooker along w carrots, potatoes, parsley and pepper. In a small bowl stir together 2 C boiling water and dry soup mix-pour into slow cooker
in same skillet melt butter and saute onions till soft-remove to slow cooker
pour red wine in skillet and stir to loosen browned bits then pour in slow cooker
cover and cook on high 30 mins-reduce heat to low and cook 6 hours\
in a small bowl mix mix 2 T flour with 1/4 c warm water-stir into stew and cook uncovered 15 minutes
add frozen peas at the end
