Ingredients
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 granny smith apples peeled, cored, halved, lengthwise and sliced paper thin
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon separated
- 1 pint (3 cups) blueberries
- 1 pint (3 cups) raspberries
- 2 cups oatmeal quick cooking
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 sticks plus 2 T unsalted butter cut into small pieces
- Heavy cream for serving
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. In a medium bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Spread apples into two 9 inch glass pie plates and top with berries.
In another medium bowl, toss oats with brown sugar, flour, salt and remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Using fingers, mix in the butter until crumbly.
Spread the topping over berries. Set the pie plates on a baking sheet and bake for 35 minutes or until the fruit is bubbling and the topping is golden brown. Transfer to wire rack to cool for 30 minutes. Serve with heavy whipping cream or whipped cream.
