Pumpkin Creme Cheese Cookies

Ingredients

• Cookies:
• 1 c butter flavored Crisco
• 3 cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 c canned pumpkin
• 2 t vanilla
• 5 cups flour
• 2 t baking powder
• 2 t soda
• 1 t salt
• 2 t cinnamon (I usually go a little heavy on cinnamon—closer to 3 t)
• 2 t nutmeg
• 2 c semi sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add pumpkin and vanilla. Mix well. Combine dry ingredients and add to pumpkin mixture. Mix well. Spray Pam on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes. Remove to cooling rack and cool completely.

Frosting (optional)
1 8oz pkg cream cheese softened
1 cube softened butter
4 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
Combine all ingredients in bowl and mix well. Frost cooled cookies.
