Sophie's Cinnamon Rolls

Everytime that we go to visit Steve's family in Clifton, Grandmother Sophie usually makes these cinnamon rolls, and they are usually gone in a heartbeat, they're so good!

Ingredients

  • SPREAD FOR ROLLS:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 stick oleo
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 egg(beaten)
  • 4 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 3-3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup oleo(she uses 1/2 stick)
  • 2 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • TOPPING/ICING FOR ROLLS:
  • 2/3 box powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Bring to boil: milk, sugar, oleo, and salt. Let cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in water. Add yeast mixture to beaten egg, beat well, keeping dough smooth. Add flour, keeping dough smooth. Place dough into a container and let rise 1 1/2 hours or until it doubles in size. Grease a 10x12 pan(large baking dish) Roll out 1/2 dough to it's 1/4 inch thick(it will be oblong in shape.) Spread with 1/2 of cinnamon mixture and roll-up. Cut into 10-1 inch-thick pieces, placing the flat side down. Repeat with the other 1/2 dough. Let rise again for 45 minutes before baking. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Top with powdered sugar icing while hot. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
