Ingredients
- 1 3/4 c. oats(quick, uncooked)
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 3/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 3/4 c. crisco butter shortening
- 1 T. water
- 1/2 t. baking soda
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. caramel sundae ice cream topping
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 350degrees. Spray 9x13 pan with non stick spray.
Combine oats, 1 1/2 c. flour, brown sugar, shortening, water, baking soda, salt in large bowl. Stir with spoon until well blended. Reserve 1 cup. Press remaining into bottom of pan.
Bake 10-12 mins. or until light brown. Remove pan & cool 10 minutes.
Sprinkle with nuts & chocolate chips.
Combine caramel topping with remaining 1/4 flour. Stir until smooth. drizzle over chocolate chips to within 1/4 in. of pan edges. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture.
Return to oven. Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.
