Herb Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 G baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 T chopped fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary)
  • 2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 1/2 sticks cold unsalted butter, cut in pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven 400º

In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, herbs, salt and baking soda.
Add the butter and using a pastry blender or fingers until crumbly. Add buttermilk and stir until just moistened.

Put dough on a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times to bring it together. Shape and gently roll out. Use a 2 1/2 inch round to cut out 12 biscuits.
Place on baking sheet and bake 15-20 minuted until golden brown.
