MUSSELS BRUSSELS

Serve with Belgian beer.Trappist monk beer,or Duvel for real treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic,minced
  • 2 shallots,minced
  • 3.3 lbs.mussels
  • 1 bottle of Leffe,Duvel,Stella
  • (341 ml) 1 tsp green peppercocrns

Preparation

Step 1

In large pot with tigh-fitting lid,melt the butter over medium heat.Add the garkic and shallots and saute for 2 min.or until the garlic is fragrant.Add the mussels,beer,and peppercorns.Place the lid on the pot and steam the mussels for 5-7 min.or until they have all opened.Shake the pot occasionally to move the mussels.Discard any mussels that not opened,serve immediately
