SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cake flour
  • l/2 lb. butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together butter and sugar. Add sugar 1.4 cup at a time and beat until light. Add eggs one at a time. Sift flour and soda mixture twice. Then alternate sour cream and soda mixture and add vanilla and beat 2 minutes. Pour into tube pan and bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325 degrees.

NOTE: I bake at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes and then up the heat to 350 degrees for the remaining time or until done.
