Ingredients
- Dressing:
- 1/2 head lettuce
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 can mandarin oranges
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1/4 cup oil
- dash of Tobasco
Preparation
Step 1
Melt the sugar in a small pan over medium heat. Add almonds, and stir to coat. Pour on a piece of waxed paper and allow to cool. When cool, break into small pieces.
Put the dressing ingredients in a blender and combine.
Put lettuce, celery, parsley, onions, and mandarin oranges in a large bowl. Combine well. Pour dressing over all, then top the salad with the carmelized almonds.
