Nana's Mushroom Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 bouillon cubes
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1 lb mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash pepper
  • 1/2 cup of fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 to 3/4 graded parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter

Preparation

Step 1

In small saucepan, dissolve bouillon cubes in the water; cool. Wash and slice mushrooms into 2 quart casserole. Stir flour into bouillon until smooth; add cream, salt and pepper; cook until thickened. Pour over mushrooms, mix crumbs and cheese; sprinkle on top. Dot with butter and bake in moderate oven 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until browned. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
