Strawberry Walnut Bars

Delicious Bar Cookie recipe Ive been making for over 15 years.

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 egg yolks
• 2 cups flour
• 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
• strawberry jam

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325.

Cream butter gradually. Add sugar, creaming until light. Add the egg yolks and blend well. Add flour and nuts. Mix all together.

Spoon half the batter into a GREASED 9 inch square pan. Spread evenly, use fingertips. Top with strawberry jam, spread evenly. Cover with remaining dough. Pat to cover. Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown. Cool completely and cut into 2 inch bars.
