Marinated Spinach

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch spinach
  • Dashi:1/3 tsp “HON-DASHI"
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 2 Tbsp light soy sauce
  • Grated daikon
  • Bonito flakes (Optional)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Parboil spinach in lightly salted water for about 30 seconds, rinse in cold water. Drain thoroughly and set aside in a square pan.
2. Mix "HON-DASHI" and hot water to make dashi. Stir in soy sauce and mix.
3. Pour the dashi and soy sauce mixture over spinach and marinade for 5 to 10 minutes.
4. Gently drain and cut spinach into 1 1/2"-long strips.
5. Place on serving plate and top with (optional bonito flakes.)
