Ingredients
- Filling:
- 2 1/2 C flour
- 1 C sugar
- 1/2 C ground slivered almonds
- 1 t baking powder
- 1/4 t salt
- 1 C cold butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 t ground cinnamon
- 4 C fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 C sugar
- Juice of 1/2 orange (4 teaspoons)
- 1 T cornstarch
- 1 t vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 375. Grease 13 x 9 pan with butter or cooking spray.
In large bowl, mix flour, sugar, almonds, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter using pastry blender until it looks like coarse meal. Stir in egg. Press 2 1/2 C of crumb mixture in bottom of pan. Stir in cinnamon into remaining crumb mixture; set aside.
In medium bowl, stir lal filling ingredients. Spool evenly over crust. Spoon reserved crumb mixture evely over filling.
Bake 45 - 55 minutes or until top is light golden brown. Refrigerate until chilled.
