Zesty Pork-Apple Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Onion, chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter or Margarine
  • 1 (10oz) can Chicken Gravy
  • 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 3 Cups Pork, Cook and cubed
  • 2 Tart Apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups Mashed Potatoes (fresh or 4 servings of instant)
  • 1/4 Cup Milk
  • Dash Pepper
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1/2 Cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium saucepan, saute onion in butter till tender. Stir in gravy, sugar and cinnamon. Add cooked pork and apples; mix well. Spoon mixture into a 8 inch round baking dish.

Prepare potatoes according to directions for 4 servings, except use 1/4 cup milk and dash pepper. Blend egg into potatoes. Spoon potatoes into 6 mounds on top of pork mixture.

Bake uncovered at 350 for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Return to oven until cheese melts, approx. 5 minutes
