Chocolate Chip Cookies (with candy orange slices)

From Mom Sumpter (classic Sumpter recipe)

Ingredients

• 1 c butter, softened
• 1 c white sugar
• 1 c brown sugar
• 2 eggs
• 3 c flour
• 1 t salt
• 1 t baking powder
• 1 t baking soda
• 2 c chocolate chips
• candy orange slices

Preparation

Step 1

Mix butter and sugars in mixer until creamy. Add eggs and 2 cups of flour. While mixing, add salt, baking powder, baking soda, and 1 cup of flour. Add chocolate chips.
Cut orange slices into fourths (put powdered sugar on knife to keep candy from sticking to knife). Stir candy into dough.
Scoop cookies onto cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes until edges of cookies are just starting to brown.
