apple pie with topping

Ingredients

  • 6-8 apples(melrose, greening or other tart cooking apple)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preparation

Step 1

peel apples, core and slice. mix half the sugar and all the cinnamon with the apples. place in a 9 inch pie plate.

combine the rest of the sugar with the flour and butter using a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. mix in the nuts. sprinkle over the top of the apples.

bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour until nice and brown.
