Ingredients
- 1/2 lb bacon, about 8 slices
- 1/2 lb spaghetti
- salt
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cups frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Preparation
Step 1
cut bacon crosswise into thin strips. in a frying pan, cook bacon until crisp and remove with a slotted spoon. drain on paper towels. save 3 tbs fat and pour off the rest. return the measured fat to pan. meanwhile, cook spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water until done. slice garlic. add oil and garlic to the bacon fat and cook, stirring 1 minute. stir in broccoli and 1/2 tsp salt. cook 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently. drain pasta and return to the hot pot. stir in broccoli mixture, cheese and bacon.
