bread-orange cranberry

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup prepared cranberry orange sauce
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 tablespoons apple jelly or apricot preserves

Preparation

Step 1

heat oven to 350. grease 4-cup fluted ring mold. stir flour, chopped cranberries, sugar, walnuts, baking powder and baking soda in large bowl to mix well.

beat egg, cranberry-orange sauce, milk and melted butter in second bowl with wire ahisk or fork, when thoroughly blended, stir into flour mixture just until mixed.

spoon batter into prepared mold. bake 1 hour. cool completely.

stir apple jelly in small saucepan over low heat until melted and warm, brush over top of cooled bread.
