Good Cheese Fondue

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 cups dry white wine
  • 1 lb grated gruyere or emmenthaler cheese
  • Mix next 4 ingredients in a plastic bag
  • 1 1/2 tbs cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp white pepper
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • Toss the grated cheese into cornstarch mix
  • 1/4 cup Kirsh

Preparation

Step 1

Rub fondue pot with garlic. Add wine and heat slowly until simmering. Gradually add cheese mixture to the wine. Stir continually until all cheese is melted and thickened and smooth Gradually stir in kirsh. To serve place over heat
