Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening ( 1/2 butter, 1/2 crisco)
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp soda

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together thoroughly the shortening, sugar and eggs

Sift together the flour, cream of tartar and soda. Then stir into above mixture.

Roll mixture into balls the size of small walnuts. Then roll in mixture of 2 tbs sugar and 2 tsp cinnamon.
Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 min or until lightly brown but still soft.
They will puff up at first, but will flatten out with crinkeled tops.

Bake at 400 degrees
