sausage and Peppers Italiano

Ingredients

  • 1 cup small shell macaroni
  • 1 lb sweet italian sausage links
  • 3 medium sized red, green and yellow peppers
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 14 1/2-16 oz can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 8oz shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare macaroni.

Remove casings from sausages. Cut peppers into 1/4" strips, slice onion. Cook sausages about 5 minutes, breaking sausages into bite size chunks. Increase heat to high. Add peppers, onions and oregano. Continue cooking, stirring frequently until sausage is well browned and peppers are tender. Drain pasta. Stir tomatoes. Blend pasta into sausage. Heat.

Turn into casserole. Sprinkle cheese on top. Broil about 3 minutes.
