Ingredients

  • 2 pkg yeast
  • 1 Tbl sugar
  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 1 Cup Scalded Milk
  • 1 Cup Warm Water
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 6 Tbl Melted Shrtening
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 3-1/2 Cups Flour

Preparation

Step 1

Mix and set aside yeast + 1 Tbl sugar + 1/4 cup of liquid. Then mix 3 Cups flour, cup of scalded milk (cooled) & 3/4 cup of warm water. To this mixture add yeast mixture. Add remaining ingredients in order and mix. Set aside til double in bulk. Then divide into 3 and press each into rectangle - add sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and place on greased cookie sheet. Let rise.

Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes.

Frost with Powdered sugar Frosting. Add Cherries for Decoration.

Can use 2 cups of water - omit milk.

Frosting:

Mix Together:
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 Tbl Butter or Margarine
1 Tsp Vanilla

Add:
3-4 Tsp milk - add slowly til spreadable
