Microwave Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 -1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 lbs cranberries (1 1/4 pkg)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp orange rind (I use Spice Island or McCormick)

Preparation

Step 1

Wash cranberries.

Stir sugar, Juice, cranberries in 3 qt casserole. Add cinnamon stick.

Cover and microwave for 5 to 6 minutes (If you have a small microwave you might need 8 to 10 minutes) or until berries have popped and sauce has thickened.

Watch during the last minuet or two that the sauce does not boil up over the container (stir as required).

Let set for 5 minutes. May be served warm or cold. Should be kept in refrigerator until eaten.
