Ingredients
- 1 large tsp Baking Soda
- 1 heaping tsp Cream of Tartar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 cups flour
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/4 cup buttermilk

Step 1
Mix dry ingredients in bowl with pastry cutter, add buttermilk and mix in with a
fork. Roll into ball with hands. DO NOT HANDLE VERY MUCH. Cut into two
portions and roll out with rolling pin about 1 inch thick, cut into four pieces. Roll out
remaining dough and cut it into four pieces. Heat frying pan and sprinkle with flour.
Place the four pieces into frying pan and cook 10 minutes per side, then stand the four
^-^ pieces up on their sides and cook each side until browned. Place the remaining four
T- ^' pieces into frying pan and cook in the same manner. Makes 8 scones. Cut scone in
* half and spread jam on each half and eat.
