Ingredients
- 1/2 gallon hot tap water
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 lb of coarse salt
- (2 cups of Morton's kosher salt)
- 8 lbs of ice (1 gallon water)
- 16 cups (128 oz) vegetable broth.

Preparation
Step 1
Place hot water, salt and sugar into clean cooler. Stir thoroughly to dissolve salt crystals.
Then stir in the ice and vegetable broth.
Place rinsed turkey into brine solution breast side up and cover the cooler.
Brine turkey for 8 to 12 hours, turning bird over once halfway through brining time.
