Ingredients

  • 1 cup wesson oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 small Gerber plums
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon red cake coloring
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cut nuts
  • Glaze
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Sift flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nuts and then add to oil, sugar, eggs, plums, vanilla and cake coloring.

Bake in tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Boil glaze ingredients for 2 to 3 minutes. While cake is in pan, stick knife into cake and pour 1/2 cup glaze over it. Turn cake out and pour remainder of glaze over cake.
