Ingredients
- 6 large green apples, peeled and cored
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- vanilla ice cream
Preparation
Step 1
Slice apples and toss into a crock pot with lemon juice, brown sugar, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Add butter and stir to coat.
Cook on low until apples are mushy, about 2 hrs. Mash the apples and mix well.
Serve warm over vanilla ice cream.
Can also reduce cook time and serve apples as slices if preferred.
