Ingredients
- 4 lbs. corned beef brisket
- water to cover
- 1 large onion sliced
- 3 whole cloves
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Preparation
Step 1
Cover corned beef with wataer in large pot. Add onion, cloves, sugar and garlic powder. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer until fork tender. This will take about 4 hours.
Remove meat and keep hot. Cook 8 to 10 potatoes and 8 to 10 carrots in juice corned beef was cooked in. Cover and cook 20-25 minutes or until tender.
